Connect Omnisend CRM

1. Navigate to the Omnisend website (https://app.omnisend.com/#/login/) and login to your Omnisend account by entering your email and password and click the "LOG IN” button.

2. Click on the "Account" menu in the upper-right corner of your window and then select "Store settings" from the drop-down menu.

3. Click on the "Integrations & API" drop-down and select "API Keys".

4. If you haven’t created an API key click on the “Create API Key” button, select the “I want to set up custom permissions for this API key” option and make sure that Contacts and Carts permissions are selected. Click on the “Save” button.  

5. Select and copy your API Key. (Make sure that Contacts and Carts permissions are selected.)

6.  Open the OCU app within your Shopify store. Click the "Settings" button from the left-side navigation menu then click "CRMs". In the Omnisend section, paste your API Key into the "API Key" field. Then click the green "Connect” button. 

Your OCU app is now connected to your Omnisend account via API!

The Abandoned Cart feature

Omnisend allows you to create Flows. In order to create an Abandoned Cart Flow, you need to click on the "Automation" tab and then on the "Abandoned Cart" button in the “Recommended workflows” section.

After clicking on the “Abandoned Cart” you will see the workflow where you can edit emails, delays and audience. Also, you can see preview and send test emails.

After you finish the editing, click on the “Save” button and then on the “Enable Workflow” button. 

When the workflow is enabled, all visitors who added an OCU trigger product to the cart and didn’t complete the order will receive an abandoned cart reminder email. 

A single visitor (with the same email address) can receive only one abandoned cart email in 24 hours. If a visitor abandons two carts in 24 hours, they will not receive the 2nd email.

In order for the abandoned cart restore link to be included in the email(s) you send out, you need to ensure that a "Checkout Button" has been added to your email:

The default "Abandoned Cart" Automations in Omnisend will include the Checkout Button automatically, but if you want to add an abandoned cart recovery link on your own image or button, please use {{abandoned_cart.recover_url}} as a link.
