If you're using Shopify Plus and have access to the
checkout.liquid file in your Theme, this is the guide for you!
📝If you're on Shopify Plus, but don't see the
checkout.liquid file in your Theme yet, you'll need to contact your Merchant Success Manager to enable that for you first.
Once you've confirmed it's been enabled, in the Layout section of your theme files, click the "Add a new layout" link, select "checkout" from the dropdown menu and then click the "Create layout" button. The
checkout.liquid file will be generated for you.
Making your Shopify Plus Checkout Compliant
Follow the steps below to make your Shopify Plus Checkout fully TCPA-compliant so you can collect new SMS subscribers there:
📝Since you're using Shopify Plus Checkout, you only need to follow steps 1 and 2 to update your legal pages. After that, return to this guide to complete the step below.
1. Go to Online Store > Themes > Actions > Edit code in your Shopify admin
2. Find the
checkout.liquid file there and open it
3. In the
storeName is listed in the script above, enter your preferred store name instead.
4. Save the file and you're all set!
3. Once you've confirmed the separate SMS Checkbox and legal language has been added to your Shopify Plus Checkout correctly, head back to the "Checkout" section of the Kinnekt app and check off steps 3 - 6 there.
This step is required to be completed to indicate to Kinnekt that Checkout subscribers can now be collected compliantly. Until all 6 steps are checked off, no Checkout subscribers can be collected:
