The Competitors tab compares your store with tracked Shopify stores using a public-data-only comparison score. Because it scores every store on publicly visible catalog data alone, it is separate from your AI Readiness Score, which also uses private, admin-only signals.
Adding a competitor
Select Add competitor and enter a public Shopify store's URL (for example, example.com). ShopRank analyzes up to 100 of that store's products against the same public checks it runs on yours. Analysis can take up to 5 minutes, and results appear on their own when ready.
ShopRank only accepts public Shopify stores with a visible product catalog — if a store can't be added, you'll see an error. A store you added before may show Not supported if its catalog is no longer available to analyze, or Failed if analysis didn't complete; remove it and add it again to retry.
On the Free plan you can track 1 competitor. A banner shows your usage, and trying to add beyond the limit prompts you to upgrade to Scale for unlimited competitors.
Reading the comparison
Category rank — Where you place among the stores in your current comparison — your store plus the competitors you've analyzed, not a market-wide ranking. It stays hidden until at least one competitor has finished
Public comparison score — Your overall public-data score, with how you compare to the average of the tracked group
Category leader — The highest-scoring competitor in your current comparison
Score comparison — The score broken into four areas: GEO optimization, descriptions, image alt tags, and structured data, each with a target of 80. Expand any store to see the checks behind each area
To stop tracking a store, select the remove action on its row.
Why the tab may be empty
You haven't added a competitor yet
A competitor is still being analyzed — results appear automatically when ready
A competitor couldn't be analyzed because it failed or isn't supported
