Zipify Post Profit [OCU]

Turn your TY and OS pages into revenue engines with targeted, high-converting ads!

Written by Jeff Maxfield

Overview

Zipify PostProfit is an innovative feature within OneClickUpsell (OCU) that allows you to monetize your store's Thank You and Order Status pages by displaying relevant, targeted ads to your customers after they complete a purchase. This creates an additional revenue stream while providing value to your customers through relevant product recommendations.

After a customer completes their purchase, they'll see carefully curated ads on your Thank You and Order Status pages. These ads are:

  1. Relevant: Matched to your store's category and customer interests

  2. Non-intrusive: Designed to complement, not disrupt, the post-purchase experience

  3. Revenue-generating: You earn money when customers view and interact with these ads

With just a few clicks, you can activate PostProfit, connect your PayPal account, and start earning passive revenue whenever a shopper views and engages with an ad. It's a seamless, set-it-and-forget-it way to turn post-purchase traffic into a new stream of income.

Enabling Zipify PostProfit

Before enabling Zipify PostProfit, the following prerequisites must be met:

  1. Checkout Extensibility: Your store must have Checkout Extensibility enabled

  2. PayPal Account: Required for receiving payouts from ad revenue. 📝 You'll connect your PayPal account during setup, and that account will be used for all payouts.

When you first access the Zipify PostProfit section within the app, you'll see an introduction explaining the benefits and features. Click the "Activate Now" button to proceed with activation:

Providing Permissions

On the "Provide permissions" screen, grant the necessary permissions by adding the "TY/OS Upsells and PostProfit" app block to both your Thank You and Order Status pages in Shopify's Checkout Editor. Click the "Go to Checkout Editor" button to complete the steps:

📝After adding the app block, you can position it anywhere on the TY/OS pages using the drag-and-drop feature in the Shopify Checkout Editor. For best visibility and conversion, we recommend placing it as the first item within the Order Details block:

Once PostProfit is activated and the app block has been added to your TY/OS pages, your customers will start seeing ads and generating revenue for your store.

If you ever want to stop showing ads, you can deactivate at any time without affecting your setup or settings:

Connecting Your PayPal Account

To start collecting payments from ads, you'll need to connect PayPal in the PostProfit settings. Click the Settings link:

This redirects to the Settings > Zipify PostProfit section. Click the "Connect PayPal" button to start the connection, then complete PayPal's quick onboarding flow:

Once your PayPal account is connected successfully, a "Connected" status label will appear:

If there are any issues during or after the connection, a warning label will appear instead, indicating that action is required to resolve the problem:

PayPal Account Management

  1. Manage: Open your PayPal dashboard (redirect)

  2. Disconnect account: Remove the connection (a confirmation popup appears before it's removed)

  3. Status monitoring: Real-time connection health checks (Connected, Issues, Disconnected)

📝 If you previously connected a Stripe account, it will remain visible in your PostProfit Settings. You can view your Stripe account or disconnect it from there. New payouts are processed through PayPal only.

How do I generate revenue with PostProfit?

Each advertiser sets the required “paid action,” and revenue is only added when that action occurs. Because PostProfit works with multiple payout models, revenue isn’t always tied directly to orders or clicks. Your earnings also depend on how many offers customers choose to opt in to.

  • Some advertisers pay per acquisition, which means the user must click through and complete a signup or redemption with the third-party provider. Revenue is added almost in real time when that happens.

  • Others pay per click, but only clicks on advertisers using that model generate revenue.

Payouts and Billing

Once your Zipify PostProfit ads are live, your revenue starts accumulating based on customer orders and interactions. Here's how and when you can expect to receive payouts:

Step-by-Step Payout Process

1. Service Month Begins

  1. You set your ads live during a calendar month—this is your Service Month

  2. All ad impressions, clicks, and interactions are tracked during this period

  3. Revenue accumulates based on customer engagement with displayed ads

2. 60-Day Payment Reconciliation

  1. After the service month ends, our ad partner audits and compiles all ad performance data.

  2. Revenue is collected from advertisers.

  3. Funds are distributed between our ad partner, Zipify, and you.

  4. Payments are reconciled in preparation for payout.

3. Merchant Receives Payment

  1. You will receive your payout 60 days after the service month ends.

  2. For example, if your ads ran in March, your payout would typically be sent June 1st.

  3. All payments are processed through PayPal directly to your connected account.

Statistics

With PostProfit’s built-in Statistics dashboard, you can easily track how your ad offers are performing in real-time. This gives you the insight you need to understand what’s working, optimize your strategy, and maximize post-purchase revenue.

You'll have access to key performance metrics, including:

Clicks - This simply counts how many times customers interact with an Offer. This could be by clicking on a button, image, or even directly accessing an Offer link in their browser.

Revenue - The revenue generated through customer engagement with ad offers.

📝The revenue displayed represents real, earned revenue. This amount will be paid out to your connected PayPal account after the reconciliation and payout process is complete.

Orders - How many orders where PostProfit ad offers were displayed to shoppers.

RPM (Revenue Per Mille) - Measures the revenue earned for every 1000 orders. The formula to calculate RPM is: (Revenue ÷ Orders) × 1000

CTR (Click-Through Rate) - A measure of how often people click on an Offer after seeing it. It’s calculated as a percentage by dividing the number of clicks by the number of orders.

Custom date range filtering is also available for deeper analysis.

Troubleshooting

1. Ads Not Displaying

  1. Verify Checkout Extensibility is enabled

  2. Ensure the OCU app block is added to both TY and OS pages

  3. Check that your store serves customers in US/Canada

If Checkout Extensibility is available, but hasn't been enabled, you'll see a locked screen instead. Click the "Enable Now" button to redirect to Shopify Checkout setting page to update to Checkout Extensibility.

2. Payment Issues

  1. Confirm your PayPal account is properly connected in Settings

  2. Verify account status in the Settings page

  3. Check for any PayPal account restrictions

3. Setup Problems

  1. Use the permissions flow to properly configure the Checkout Editor

  2. Allow time for system verification after making changes

  3. Contact support if issue(s) persist

✅ Important Notes & Best Practices

Once your PostProfit widget is live, our ad partner’s system will automatically manage and optimize everything for you. No manual setup required!

  • Continuous Optimization:
Their team continuously refines your offer path to ensure the ads shown are the most relevant to your customers and drive the highest possible revenue.

  • Optimization Period:
It typically takes about 2–4 weeks for your offer path to fully optimize and reach the best earnings per transaction.

  • Revenue Fluctuations:
Because PostProfit uses performance-based advertising, daily revenue variations are completely normal and tend to balance out when viewed over a full week or month.

  • Monitor your PostProfit stats regularly to track performance and revenue trends.

  • Geo-Restriction: Ads will only be shown to customers located in the United States and Canada.

  • Since both OS/TY upsell offers and ad offers use the same app block placement in the Shopify Checkout editor:

    • When both an upsell offer and an ad offer are available, they will be displayed one under another in a vertical stack.

    • If only one type of offer is available (either upsell or ad), only that offer will be displayed.

  • For best results, remove any other app blocks used for ads or offers (e.g., Rebuy or Aftersell), as they can conflict with OCU’s PostProfit feature and reduce its performance.

  • Customer Interactions

    • Claim Offer: Redirects to the advertiser’s page where the ad offer can be accepted or redeemed

    • No Thanks: Dismisses the current ad and shows the next one.

    • Mobile-friendly: Optimized for touch interaction and swipe gestures

  • Clicks Showing, Revenue Missing?
Some PostProfit advertisers pay per click, while others pay only when a customer actually signs up or purchases with their service (pay-per-acquisition). If you see orders and clicks but no revenue, it usually means your traffic is going to a pay-per-acquisition offer and no one has completed the signup yet.

  • Restricted Categories: To comply with legal and platform policies, certain ad categories are not permitted. These include:

    1. Alcohol

    2. Tobacco & Vaping Products

    3. Weapons & Accessories

    4. Gambling

    5. CBD & Cannabis

    6. Prescription Drugs

    7. Certain Financial Products (e.g., predatory lending)

    8. Adult Content

    9. False/Misleading Claims

    10. Hate/Discrimination/Violence-inciting content

Stripe (Legacy)

This section applies only to merchants who previously connected a Stripe account. Stripe is no longer supported for PostProfit payouts. All new payouts process through PayPal. Your existing Stripe connection stays accessible on a read-only basis: no new payouts will go to it, but you can still view it or remove it.

In Settings > Zipify PostProfit, the Connected Stripe account block shows your existing connection. From here you can:

  • Manage account: Open your Stripe dashboard to view your account

  • Delete account: Remove the Stripe connection (a confirmation popup appears first)

📝 You'll also see a banner reading "Stripe is no longer supported for payouts. New payments will not be sent to your Stripe account. Connect PayPal to continue receiving earnings." To keep receiving your earnings, connect PayPal (see Connecting Your PayPal Account above).

Configuring manual payouts (existing Stripe accounts)

We recommend setting the payout method to Manual in your Stripe Dashboard. This gives you full control over when payouts are initiated.📝Stripe may apply fees for each manual payout.

1. Log in to your Stripe account via OCU Settings → Zipify PostProfit → Manage:

2. On the Stripe Dashboard, click the Update link under the Total balance section:

3. In the side panel, switch the payout method to Manual and save the changes:

4. Once saved, a Payout button will appear, allowing you to initiate payouts at any time:

If one of your customers ever has a question about an advertiser or offer they’ve seen, please reach out to Zipify Support and our team will assist right away!
