Understanding Billing

All billing for the OCU app is handled by the Shopify Billing department. All App charges appear on your regular Shopify subscription bill.

Each store has a free 30-day trial. After that, your first active subscription period will begin the following day. The first usage fee is created by OCU in the next 6 hours after the active period has started.

For example:
If the free trial finishes on Dec 1, then the active period starts on Dec 2. The first usage fee will be created on Dec 2. The first invoice will be $35 if the upsell revenue for the first 6 hours is less than or equal to $1,000.00. If upsell revenue is $1,000.01 or greater, then the first usage fee will be $95 (the next pricing tier).

Next, the OCU app checks upsell revenue every 6 hours and then creates the next usage fee record when the next pricing tier threshold is reached.

For example:
Your store earned $100 in upsell revenue in the first 6 hours (Dec 2 in our example). This means that the first usage fee invoice will be $35. Then, your store earned more than $1,000.01 on Dec 6. The next usage fee invoice will be created on Dec 6. The next usage fee invoice amount is the difference between tier prices I.e. $95 - $35 = $60.00.

Based on the first example, on Dec 6. your store would now have two usage fees, with a total sum of $95 because upsell revenue is greater than $1,000.00 but less than $10,000.

At the end of the 30-day app billing period, your store will/can have several usage fees, with the total sum of those invoices being equal to the OCU pricing tier based on upsell revenue generated for the app billing cycle.

Total Cost of using OCU

The total cost of using OCU is as follows:

  • Monthly subscription fee based on upsell revenue + 1% upsell revenue.

Note: 1% upsell revenue fee does not apply to OCU Plus plans. Pricing is based on the total upsell revenue your store processes in a 30-day billing cycle, not the number of orders processed.

  • Per-transaction fee for each post-purchase offer added.

Transaction fees vary based on your Shopify plan type and on which credit card processor you are using (i.e. Shopify Payments for the Shopify Basic plan is 2.9% + 30Β’ USD for each successful credit card charge).

Note: each post-purchase offer the customer buys is considered a separate transaction.

For example, the initial checkout charge is one transaction, Upsell 1 is a second transaction, and Upsell 2 is the third transaction. So for an order that contains two post-purchase upsells, there will be three separate credit card transaction fees charged for the order.

Canceling Trial and/or Subscription

If you decide that you don't want to increase your store's AOV and the OCU app isn't for you, simply delete the app from the Settings > Apps and sales channels section of your Shopify admin before the 30-day trial ends and you won't be charged.

Follow these quick and easy steps to cancel your Trial and/or Subscription:

1. Disable the OCU app in the Settings > General section by clicking on the "Application Status" switch so it's in the "OFF" position.

2. Delete the OCU app from the Settings > Apps and sales channels section of your Shopify admin.

Once the app has been deleted, your trial and/or subscription will become canceled and you will no longer be billed.
