AI Assistant [OCU]

Meet your built-in growth advisor. The OCU AI Assistant reads your store's own data and tells you what's working, what's leaving money on the table, and exactly what to do next.

Overview

The AI Assistant is a built-in advisor inside One Click Upsell. Instead of digging through dashboards to figure out how your upsells are doing, you can ask the Assistant and get a clear, plain-language answer based on your store's actual data.

It looks at your OCU and Shopify data, spots the biggest opportunities you're missing, and gives you a specific next step for each one. Think of it as an experienced ecommerce partner who already knows your numbers.

The AI Assistant is read-only. It analyzes your store and makes recommendations, but it never changes your funnels, offers, or settings on its own. You stay in full control: the Assistant points you to the right place, and you decide what to do.

📝 You'll also see a preview of the Assistant right on your OCU Dashboard. It shows a single personalized recommendation (the highest-impact opportunity for your store) along with a quick prompt box. Selecting the recommendation or sending the prompt opens the full AI Assistant with that topic already loaded.

What it does for your store

Most stores only use a fraction of the upsell placements OCU offers, and it's not always obvious which ones are worth turning on next. The AI Assistant closes that gap. It:

  • Shows how your upsells are performing in one place, without hunting through reports.

  • Flags placements you haven't set up yet and estimates the revenue you could add, based on your own order volume and results.

  • Explains its reasoning, so every recommendation comes with a "why," not just a "what."

  • Gives you a one-click path to act on each suggestion.

It's available on all OCU plans, and there's nothing to install or set up. If you have OCU, the Assistant is ready to use.

Opening the AI Assistant

You can open the AI Assistant two ways:

  1. Click AI Assistant in the OCU sidebar.

  2. Click the AI Assistant button in the top corner of the Home, Funnels, Statistics, and other pages.

Either one opens the same Assistant, so use whichever is closest to what you're working on.

Asking your first question

When you open the AI Assistant, you'll see the prompt "How can I help you today?" with a text box and three starting options.

You have two ways to get an answer:

  1. Pick a starting option. Click one of the three topic buttons (covered below) to get an instant, data-backed overview of that area.

  2. Type your own question. Use the "Ask anything" box to ask about your products, upsell performance, or revenue in your own words.

After each answer, the Assistant suggests follow-up options so you can keep exploring, and it scrolls to the newest response automatically.

📝 The Assistant works from your real store data, using the last 30 days by default. For upsell performance you can switch between 30, 60 and 90-day views using the follow-up options.

What you can ask about

The three starting options cover the areas most merchants want a read on:

  1. Upsell performance overview:
    See how your upsells are doing across every placement. You get your total store revenue, your OCU upsell revenue, and a placement-by-placement table showing conversion rate, views, revenue, and status. The Assistant also recommends high-impact placements you haven't set up yet, each with an estimated monthly revenue opportunity based on your store's performance.

  2. Earn extra on every order:
    See your Zipify PostProfit opportunity. If PostProfit is off, the Assistant estimates the extra monthly revenue you could earn from your actual order volume. If it's already on, you'll see how it's performed over the last 30 days and tips to grow it.

  3. Create pre-built funnel:
    Have the Assistant build a funnel for you. It generates a personalized pre-built funnel using your store's products and best-fit offers, the same result you'd get by creating a new funnel and choosing the pre-built option. Unlike the other two options, this one takes an action for you: it creates the funnel and publishes it automatically once it's done. You can unpublish, review, and make changes afterward. Building a funnel with the Assistant

Beyond recommending what to do, the Assistant can build and publish an upsell offer or funnel for you. There are two ways to do it:

  • Quick build: Create pre-built funnel
    Choose Create pre-built funnel on the landing page and the Assistant builds a complete, personalized funnel from your store data and publishes it automatically. Best when you want a working funnel fast.

  • Guided build: walk through it together
    Ask the Assistant in chat to build a funnel for you (for example, "Create a funnel for me") and it walks you through the whole thing step by step:

  1. It reviews your store data and recommends how to start: your strongest placement to build on, a product strategy, and how simple to keep the first funnel. Each suggestion is tagged with its likely impact.

  2. It offers to propose a specific Trigger and Offer pair from your data. Choose Yes and it suggests a pairing (for example, two products your customers often buy together that are both in stock), or have it suggest a different direction.

  3. You pick the offer type for the placement, such as Post-purchase (after checkout) or Pre-purchase (before checkout). The Assistant marks its recommended choice.

  4. It shows you the finished funnel to review, with the Trigger and the Offer laid out. From here you can Cancel, Create it as a draft, or Create & publish it live.

  5. Once it's created, the Assistant links you straight to the new funnel in OCU and suggests next steps, like checking its performance in a few days or adding an Upsell 2 or Downsell branch.

You stay in the driver's seat the whole way. Nothing publishes unless you choose Create & publish, and you can unpublish or edit the funnel at any time.

📝 If a placement needs a Shopify extension enabled first, the Assistant flags it before you finish, so you don't end up with a funnel that can't run.

📝 The guided flow uses the same data-informed recommendations you get from the topic options. Instead of guessing at a trigger, offer, placement, and products on your own, you start from a pairing built on your store's actual performance, so you get a working funnel instead of a half-finished setup.

👉 Good to know

  • It advises, and it can build with your approval. The Assistant gives you insights and recommendations, and most changes to a funnel, offer, or setting are yours to make. It can also build offers and funnels for you: instantly with Create pre-built funnel, or step by step with Guided Funnel Creation, where you approve each choice. Anything it publishes, you can unpublish and edit afterward. Recommendation cards also include a button that takes you to the right place to act.

  • Recommendations are based on your store. Revenue estimates and suggestions come from your own order volume and upsell results, not generic benchmarks.

  • Already fully set up? The Assistant will let you know your store is capturing revenue at every stage and point you to your next growth levers, like reviewing lower-performing offers or checking your PostProfit earnings.

  • AI can make mistakes. As the Assistant notes at the bottom of the screen, always verify before acting on a recommendation.

  • Share feedback. Use the Share feedback link at the top of the Assistant to send the team your thoughts.

FAQs

Does the AI Assistant change my funnels or settings automatically?

It only builds something when you ask it to. It can create offers and funnels two ways: Create pre-built funnel builds and publishes a full funnel in one step, and Guided Funnel Creation walks you through building a funnel step by step, then lets you create it as a draft or publish it live. It won't change your other funnels, offers, or settings on its own, and anything it publishes you can unpublish, review, and edit.

Where does its data come from?

Your own store data from OCU and Shopify, using the last 30 days by default.

Do I have to use the three starting options?

No. They're shortcuts to the most common questions. You can also type your own question in the "Ask anything" box.

Is this available in Zipify Pages?

No. The AI Assistant is a One Click Upsell feature.
